Welcome to Wireless Broadband Communication Protocol Cross-Campus Research Center!

The Wireless Broadband Communication Protocol Cross-Campus Research Center (WBCP) was established in September 2012 to develop wireless broadband communication protocol related technologies and support the wireless broadband industry in Taiwan. In its role as a research organization, the WBCP aims to promote wireless broadband communication technologies, cultivate talents and trengthen the collaboration with industry and other research institutes in Taiwan.

An Introduction of the Center

We integrate research and development talents and resources for wireless broadband communication protocols, raise the standards of wireless broadband communication protocols development and technology, and provide sustainable services to relevant industries.

 

The Purpose of the Center

We cultivate R&D talents for wireless broadband communication protocols, raise the standards of wireless broadband communication protocols development and technology, and implement industry-university cooperation.

Our goals are as follows:

  1. Integrate Taiwan’s research and development talents and resources for wireless broadband communication protocols.
  2. Improve the level of Taiwan’s wireless broadband communication protocols development and technology.
  3. Strive for a special research project related to the wireless broadband communication protocols.
  4. Handle R&D talents for wireless broadband communication protocols.
  5. Implement the industry-university cooperation of the wireless broadband communication protocols.
  6. Assist in research and seminars related to the wireless broadband communication protocols.
  7. Promote international cooperation and participate in the development of international standards.

 

Organization and position

The Center is a first-level unit in the task organization system of the school. It has a Division of General Affairs, a Division of Research and Development, and a Division of International and Industrial Cooperation. Their tasks are as follows:

  1. Division of General Affairs: Responsible for the integration of relevant teaching, training courses, patent applications, cross-school cooperation and study, and business of seminar activities.
  2. Division of Research and Development: Responsible for the research direction of the Planning Center, integrating resources inside and outside the school, promoting cross-field cooperation research, and striving for research projects and technology transfer of wireless broadband communication protocols.
  3. Division of International and Industrial Cooperation: Responsible for planning international cooperation, participating in international standards development, industry-university research cooperation cases, and technology promotion.

The Methods for the Establishment of the Center

July 26th, 2018: Amendment by a meeting of Center division leaders

August 2nd, 2018: Submitted to the president of the university for approval

 

Chapter 1 General Provisions

Article 1: These measures are formulated in accordance with the provisions of the National Sun Yat-sen University Research Center Establishment and Abolition Review Procedures.

Article 2: The Center is named ” Wireless Broadband Communication Protocols Cross-Campus Research Center, National Sun Yat-sen University ” (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) and is a first-level unit in the task organization system of the school.

Article 3: The purpose of the Center is to effectively cultivate R&D talents of wireless broadband communication protocols, enhance the level of the wireless broadband communication protocols development and technology, and implement industry-university cooperation. Our goals are as follows:

• Integrate Taiwan’s wireless broadband communication protocols research and development talents and resources.

• Enhance the level of Taiwan’s wireless broadband communication protocols development and technology.

• Strive for research projects on the subject of wireless broadband communication protocols.

• Cultivate talents for the research and development of wireless broadband communication protocols.

• Implement industry-university cooperation in wireless broadband communication protocols.

• Assist in research and seminars related to wireless broadband communication protocols.

• Promote international cooperation and participation in international standards development.

Chapter II Organization and Position

Article 4: The Center is a first-level unit in the task organization system of the school. It has a Division of General Affairs, a Division of Research and Development, and a Division of International and Industrial Cooperation. The tasks for which each division is responsible are as follows:

• Division of General Affairs: Responsible for the integration of relevant education, training courses, patent applications, cross-college cooperation and study, and business related matters for all activities related to seminars.

• Division of Research and Development: Responsible for planning the Center’s general research direction, integrating resources from inside and outside the school, promoting cross-disciplinary cooperation research, striving for wireless broadband communication protocols related research projects and technology promotion.

• Division of International and Industrial Cooperation: responsible for planning international cooperation, participating in international standards development, industry-university research cooperation, and technology promotion.

Chapter III Preparation

Article 5: The Center shall be assigned a single person as director, with a term of 2 years (which may be renewed), and shall oversee all matters related to the Center.

This individual shall be a professor or research personnel of this school from a relevant field, appointed by the president of the university.

Article 6: Each division of the Center shall have a division director. The director of the Center shall recommend an assistant professor, teacher or researcher employed inside or outside the school to the president of the university for this position.

Article 7: The Center’s relevant business personnel shall appoint temporary workers based on the nature of projects and those assigned shall be employed by the Center during the execution of these projects.

Article 8: The Center has a consulting committee that invites members inside and outside the school to make suggestions for the operation of the Center. The members are not employed by the Center, but when members from outside the school attend the consultation meeting, they will be compensated for their attendance.

Article 9: If the term of office of the director of the Center expires or the director resigns, the director shall take the initiative to recommend a new director to the president of the university for consideration. After the president of the university accepts this proposal, the new director will take the position of the previous director.

Article 10: The process of consideration for the renewal of employment for the director of the Center shall take into consideration the results of the previous evaluation of the Center.

Chapter IV Funding

Article 11: All funds (including personnel expenses) of the task assignment shall be paid by the Center’s self-sponsored commission plan or other self-sufficient methods. All income and expenditure of the Center shall be included in the school’s fund; according to the regulations of the school.

Chapter V Supplementary Provisions

Article 12: The Center shall conduct self-assessment and also accept the evaluation of the school each year. The evaluation items and methods shall be handled in accordance with relevant regulations.

Article 13: The Center shall be automatically abolished under the following conditions:

  1. The reasons for the establishment of the Center no longer exist. In this situation, the person in charge of abolishing the Center will be proposed by the director of the Center, the recommendation supervisor, a group meeting or the president of the university.
  2. Violation of the provisions of Article 12 above.
  3. When the funds of the Center are insufficient to support its operation.
  4. If the appointment of a new Center director is not completed within three months, the school’s R&D division shall request the president of the university to sign for his consent to abolish the Center. After signing, the Center will commence its dissolvement.

Article 14: After these measures for the establishment of the Center have passed a review by conference of the school, and then by the president of the university, the plans to establish the Center will be implemented. Amendments to these measures will be discussed and approved by a meeting of the Center’s administrative meeting and then approved by the president of the university before implementation.
